# DDx Help Center --- Source: https://ddx.helpcenter.io/content/how-to-activate-your-student-cohort # How to activate your student cohort _Category: Educator Help Center_ Student accounts are created through your institution's enrollment roster. The process involves submitting your student list to the DDx team, who then activates accounts and sends activation emails to each student. Here's how it works and what to expect. ## **Steps** 1. Submit your student roster to your DDx institutional contact. The roster should include each student's full name and institutional email address. 2. The DDx team will create accounts and send each student a welcome/activation email. 3. Students activate their accounts by clicking the link in their email and setting a password. 4. Once activated, students will see 6 open access cases. They will need to click on the course link you provide them, in order to be enrolled in your course and see your assigned cases. | **Timing:**Submit your roster at least 3-5 business days before your intended start date to allow time for account creation and activation email delivery. | | --- | ## **Adding students mid-semester** • Late-enrollment students can be added at any time — email your DDx contact with the student's name and institutional email • The student will receive an activation email within 1-2 business days • You'll need to ensure the new student is enrolled in your course, by clicking your course link, after their account is created --- Source: https://ddx.helpcenter.io/content/how-do-faculty-share-course-links-with-students # How do faculty share course links with students? _Category: Educator Help Center_ DDx allows students to browse the 6 cases in the open case library freely, but your assigned course cases are only accessible through your specific course link. Students who navigate directly to the DDx platform without this link will see the general library, not your assignments. Sharing the correct link is one of the most important steps in course setup. **Finding your course link** 1. Log in to DDx with your faculty account. 2. Navigate to your course dashboard and select the course you want to share. 3. Look for the Share Course Link. Copy the link provided. ## **Sharing the link with students** • Post the link in your LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace) — ideally in a prominent place like the course home page or syllabus • Include it in your welcome email or first-day materials • Remind students verbally in class — students often miss this step and browse the general library instead ## **What students see when they use the link** • Clicking the course link takes students directly to your course view • They'll see only the cases you've assigned, along with any deadlines you've set • Their progress and scores will be recorded in your faculty dashboard **If a student completed the wrong cases** If a student completed cases from the global library instead of your course, those completions won't appear in your grade dashboard. The student will need to complete the assigned cases again through the course link. Going forward, resend the course link and remind the class. --- Source: https://ddx.helpcenter.io/content/how-to-log-in-with-your-institutional-email # How to log in with your institutional email _Category: Learner Help Center_ DDx uses the email address your school registered for you, typically your institutional email address. **Steps** 1. This is usually in the format [firstname.lastname@school.edu](mailto:firstname.lastname@school.edu) or your student [ID@school.edu](mailto:ID@school.edu). 3. Enter your password and click Sign In. If this is your first time, use the password from your activation email or click Forgot Password to set one. 4. If your school uses Single Sign-On (SSO), click Sign in with your school and follow the prompts. | **Not sure which email to use?**Check the welcome or activation email you received from DDx — it will show the email address your account is registered under. Enter your institutional email address and click Submit. 4. Check your inbox for a password reset email from DDx. If it doesn't appear within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. 5. Refresh the page. Sometimes a single refresh resolves a temporary load failure. 2. Clear your browser cache and cookies. In most browsers: Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data. Select 'Cached images and files' and 'Cookies.' Then reload DDx and try the case again. 3. Try a different browser. Chrome and Firefox tend to work most reliably with DDx. If you're using Safari, switch to Chrome and retry. 4. Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers or script blockers, which can interfere with case content loading. 5. Check your internet connection. Cases include interactive content that requires a stable connection — try switching from Wi-Fi to a wired connection or vice versa. 6. Log out completely, close the browser, reopen it, and log back in before attempting the case again. | **Your progress is saved.**If a case crashes mid-way, your responses up to that point are typically saved. When you reopen the case, it should resume from where you left off or prompt you to continue. | | --- | ## **If none of the above works** • Note the case name, the browser you're using, and what error message (if any) appeared • Contact support at [vipsupport@sketchy.com](mailto:vipsupport@sketchy.com) with those details so the issue can be investigated. In **Standard scoring**, learners are assessed on multiple-choice questions and key findings, focusing on accuracy and content mastery. In contrast, **Clinical Reasoning scoring** emphasizes the learner’s thought process, evaluating how they gather information, prioritize differentials, and adjust decisions as new data becomes available. This approach aligns with how clinical reasoning is defined in medical education: the process of collecting and interpreting patient information to guide diagnostic and management decisions. DDx scoring reflects how clinical reasoning is defined in medical education: the process of collecting and interpreting patient information to guide diagnostic and management decisions. **Identifying a Clinical Reasoning case** You can identify a Clinical Reasoning case before you begin. Look for the note above the Start Case button that reads: "This case will use the Clinical Reasoning Assessment to provide feedback on your performance." **How scoring works** Clinical Reasoning cases use a developmental rubric in which each criterion is scored 1–3. Your overall score represents your total points out of the maximum possible, which is why scores may look different than a typical exam. Overall performance falls into one of three levels: - Preliminary: below 47% - Progressing: 47–80% - Proficient: 81%+ Proficient scores are genuinely difficult to achieve and are designed to reflect a high level of clinical reasoning development. Your faculty will communicate the specific benchmark to aim for in your program. **How to approach a Clinical Reasoning case** The [attached PDF](https://242248685.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na2.net/hubfs/242248685/Helpdesk%20Documents/DDx%20CRA_Learner_3%20(2)%20(1).pdf) provides a detailed guide to the rubric and how to do well. These are the essential findings from the case itself, not a model of how the note should be written. There are two places to view key details, depending on whether you're reviewing a case in general or a specific student's submission. ## Option 1: From the case overview page 1.
