How Your Cases Are Scored
In DDx, your score reflects more than just getting the “right answer.” Depending on the case, you may be evaluated using either Standard scoring or Clinical Reasoning scoring.
With Standard scoring, the focus is on accuracy, meaning how well you identify the key findings and multiple-choice questions. With Clinical Reasoning scoring, the emphasis is on how you think through the case—including how you gather information, build a differential, and adjust your decisions as new details emerge. Clinical reasoning is a core skill in medicine and involves interpreting patient information step by step to guide diagnosis and care decisions.
The attached PDF explains what to expect in each scoring type, how your actions contribute to your score, and how to use feedback to improve your clinical thinking over time. It also expands on Test Mode cases.
